Cle Browns Orange began as a phrase rather than an illustration: CLE BROWNS ORANGE. Once it was set large enough to read at a walk, in bad light, with a drink in the other hand, the t-shirt needed nothing added to it.
On a t-shirt, the type behind CLE BROWNS ORANGE has to survive motion - which is why Cle Browns Orange is treated as a mark rather than a paragraph: weight, spacing and contrast, in that order.
The Dawg Pound has always been cheaper seats and a bigger mouth, which is the culture this collection draws from. The Dawg Pound has been the loudest cheap seats in football since the eighties. The graphic belongs to that room: Cleveland football, not a generic league aisle. And there is a chant for it: "Here We Go Brownies", the nearest thing this fanbase has to a house style, which Cle Browns Orange sits inside comfortably.
The difference from a team-shop reprint is simple: this t-shirt is one idea, Cle Browns Orange, drawn for Browns supporters instead of a catalogue of approved icons.
If you already talk like this on Sundays, the t-shirt is just the public version of CLE BROWNS ORANGE. Cle Browns Orange does not need a caption once it is on your chest.
